Can rust proofing damage car paint?

There are many worries when it comes to entrusting your pride and joy to someone, whether that be a friend, family, or business. We always want our shiny paintwork to come back unscathed and ideally shinier than ever!

If you're already considering rust-proofing your car, you obviously see your ride as more than just four seats and a steering wheel. Ensuring that the products being used to stop corrosion won't harm your car is essential. In short, most rust-proofing products will not harm paintwork, but they are solvent-based and may react with some older classic cars.

In all cases, anything that gets onto car paintwork needs to be cleaned off. This entails using a solvent-based cleaner with polishing equipment, which will inevitably create small scratches and swirls in the paint and is best avoided.

In our opinion, nothing should touch the paintwork - neither products nor those 'coffee cup leaners' alike. This is why all vehicles that undergo rust-proofing treatments are fully masked and protected using the highest quality poly mask film, avoiding any overspray or contamination from the high-pressure rust-proofing equipment.

This means that after our full treatment, the car's paint is completely untouched. Of course, we finish it off with a full exterior wash and wax, topped off with plastic and rubber hydration, so the car really does come back looking better than ever!
